Increased
Demand for Document Management Solutions Creates
Opportunities
for Channel to Serve SMB Market
FileVision
Partner Program Successfully Links VARS to New SMB Customer Targets
of
Imaging, Information Management Solutions

ATLANTA, September
25, 2006 — For value-added resellers (VARs) targeting small-
and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), office productivity solution
provider FileVision has a message: if you aren’t selling document
management and imaging solutions to your SMB customers, you’d
better start.
Market trends such as the availability of
affordable, integrated scanners, compliance standards and competitive
forces that demand companies increase their productivity all point
to SMBs needing technology solutions that tie all these factors
together and inevitably make their jobs easier to do with less time
and less manpower, while yielding a greater return-on-investment
(ROI). The FileVision Partner Program, launched in March of
this year, is one example of a channel program that successfully
links VARs who have not traditionally sold information and document
management with imaging components to prospects in need of the service.
“While businesses of all sizes are
faced with stricter standards to capture, retain and securely store
information, SMB customers are in an especially difficult spot to
handle the time and staffing requirements necessary to comply,”
said LuAnn Woods, Director of Marketing, FileVision. “We created
the FileVision Partner Program to help resellers better serve their
SMB customers with a solution that integrates imaging with overall
information and data relationship management. Our solution helps
VARS to identify and resolve information management problems within
customers’ IT systems and business processes.”
In a study examining SMBs’ use of document/content
management solutions by IDC, a premier global market intelligence
firm, Kwon Chin, research manager with IDC's Document Solutions
service, stated: "Document management solutions represent a growing
market that has great future potential. The enterprise market is
crowded, but the SMB space is still wide open, with increased education
driving demand as well as the overall market size. The purchasing
decisions of SMBs rely on faster turnaround times than enterprise
customers, so there is an opportunity to establish a large number
of 'quick hits' in this market."1
VARs recognizing the increased need in the
SMB market for these types of solutions are in a unique position
to help their customers and also increase their own lines of revenue.
In a business era where SMBs have become the majority, office productivity
experts at FileVision find many VARs can still benefit from technology
partners that educate them on emerging needs in the SMB space, information
management being a primary one.
In discussing what resellers can expect when
working with FileVision, channel partner Dave McDermott, president
of Premier One, commented, “Other vendors could take a lesson
from FileVision on how to partner. They always treat us as if we
are their most important reseller. They’ve supported and supplemented
our sales efforts; are very responsive to both our customer’s
suggestions and ours; and have built a custom interface for our
customers that provide substantial positive ROI. This helps support
our mission of offering superior customer service.”
The FileVision Partner Program provides complete
marketing and sales support to resellers with customized marketing
collateral, lead generation programs for both their existing customer
base and new prospects, including telemarketing training, email/postcard
templates and helping them to formulate messaging to their specific
target markets.
